I really enjoy Voxley's universe and the many stories she writes in it. It helps to keep a cohesive and memorable background that adds to the feeling of coming back to visit wonderful friends. So now we have another hunky, arrogant warrior race with fateds.I liked the heroine and her actions - since I would do the same, but it was interesting to see that the consequences were highlighted when not many would go into such depth or even think of those reactions. It was very believable.
And who could not love Zar. He's hunky, over the top amazingly skilled warrior, and has a sense of humor. He respects and admires Ashley even when her actions cause him a lot of trouble. He believes in their fated relationship.
As always, though I get a freebie to review, I buy my copy as well. I believe in recommending what I buy since I want to ensure my favorite authors keep getting paid to keep writing. Keep up the great stories, Ms. Vi. You make my library a treasure I can always come back to when I need a break from my stressful times.

She is scared and quaking in her boots but she will go down fighting till her last breath to save herself and the other women from capture.
Due to a sever shortage of women the Nayanors have sent out raiding parties to abduct females for their home planet.
Leader of this group is the harbinger Zar who is overjoyed to have found his fated mate...the only problem.. she is stubborn, talks back and doesn't follow orders. Can these two totally different personalities learn to get along or will the harsh conditions on planet luminous tear them apart.
Thrilling start to a new series with alpha males and the females out to tame them. Can't wait till the next book.
It's hard to know who to root for at first. Ashley and her friend are captured with all the other women in their vicinity. Over 2,000 are crammed in the hold of the raider ship. All of the women on a one way trip with no hope. Ashley "lucks" out being the Harbinger's (leader) fated mate, so she has some freedom to move around. She engineers a last minute escape for her friend and two other women.
Zar wants to punish her but can't really hurt her. A Bond is growing between them in spite of Ashley's betrayal. By the time the ship reaches the raiders home planet, love has begun...
This was a good story with lots of action. I look forward to the next book.
This was another wonderful multi adventure book by one of the very BEST of Scifi authors. I've read all of her books to date except this new series. It promises to be just as good as the Brions and Corgons. It takes place in the same world with the Palians, etc.
The Nayanors come to Earth or terra from out of nowhere it appears. They target a location with a large number of young females and capture every last one of them. Most of the males trying to save them or just fight the Nayanors are killed. The home planet of the Nayanors is Luminos. It is a brutal place with a winter that is so brutal that it kills any left out in it. They huddle together in a vast fortress call the Black Hall, an enormous structure left behind by some previous even larger race. The Nayanors are not small. They generally stand over 7 feet tall and are packed with muscle, but can move with lightning speed. Vi Voxley's world-building is a hallmark of her excellent writing style. It becomes easy to picture everything that happens.
It begins with Ashley and her friend Felicia at an Arctic science station. She suddenly spots the fast moving sleek Nayanor space ship and its smaller raiders. She gives the alert but knows that it will do little good. She barricades Felicia and herself into a space she hopes is too small for the huge warriors and the Harbinger, their fiercest leader. Unfortunately she puts up such a struggle that the Harbinger himself comes after the two of them. She is no match for his skills. The only problem is that he immediately recognizes her as his fated one.
Captured, she does not suddenly become docile or weeping and wailing like most of the 2012 other females taken. She puts up a good fight and even manages to send 3 of her fellow females off in an escape pod, including Felicia. She hopes they will reach the Galactic commonwealth and and tell what they know of the tactics used by the Nayanors. Zar and his warriors are furious and the warriors would love to kill her for her actions. Only Zar as Harbinger saves her, but at the cost of fighting several of his best warriors. That along with the personal battles between the two of them make up a couple of the adventures.
Once on Luminos, winter is fast approaching and the owner of the The Black Hall, The Reaper, has long been an enemy of Zar's. The Reaper is pleased that over 2000 women were brought to their planet so that perhaps many of the warriors might find their fated one. The unclaimed women are locked together and very frightened. Ashley is permitted by Zar to try to calm them down. About a third listen, the rest are too scared to take it all in. Zar said that is normal. Ashley meets a fated one from a previous raid. She is very pregnant and has two other young sons. They become friends. But,
as with other Vi Voxley stories more scary adventures await both her and Zar before they get their HEA. GREAT STORY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. I BOUGHT THIS BOOK!
I really wish I could've given this book ten stars. Ashley is Strong, has a smart mouth and won't back without a fight, I fell in love with her instantly. Her strength and mouth gets her in some trouble every now and again. Zar, will be one of your top alpha boyfriends fast. He is everything you imagine when you hear the word Alpha or Warlord. The chemistry between them is crazy electric, I swear I felt zips from my kindle. The book is not only a love book but it's full of action. I was literally on the edge of my seat wanting, no, NEEDING to know what was about to happen. You knew, it would be happy ending but at the same time you worried that it wouldn't happen. Did I mention how Steamy the sex was? I mean.... wow, I needed a cigarette and cold shower. I know it says Alien Abduction romance,but other then special jewel in the men's chest everyone has human characteristics. <3
